Princess Sirindhorn’s 5th cycle commemorative banknotes available April 2
The new 100-baht commemorative banknotes marking the 5th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be in circulation on April 2, the process's birthday.
Governor of the Bank of Thailand, Mr Prasarn Trairatvorakul, said the issuance of the commemorative banknotes is to pay tribute to the princess for her incomparable contributions to the country.
He said there will be a total of 10 million banknotes in circulation on April 2.
The color and size of the 100-baht commemorative banknote remains unchanged, or in red color and 72 x 150 mm size. The image on the front side is identical to the 16th series of 100-Baht banknote.
The banknote depicts on one side the portrait of the princess and the scene of royal duties of Their Majesties the King and Queen.
On the reverse side, the special yellow-colored ink printed on the portrait of the princess and the surrounding area will be fluoresced into yellow when viewing under ultraviolet light.
The new 100-baht banknote can be exchanged at any commercial banks, the Government Savings Bank, the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, the Government Housing Bank, and the Islamic Bank of Thailand from April 2.
